Working from Home

Staying organized is the key to working from home, but the best part of all being in your pajamas the whole day! Although sometimes it can be hard to focus because you are at home and surely there is a million other things you can be doing. I do go into the office most of the time but there are certain projects I take home to do in my spare time.

A mini whiteboard was the best purchase I ever made, daily I make a list of everything I need to get done including appointments I have. This gives an outline of my day separate from my planner. This whiteboard holds my life!

I also have a whiteboard monthly calendar I use for important dates, meetings, and deadlines. Outlining my month helps me to plan out better what I need to work on to make sure it is done on time.

Have a separate space, it's essential. This will help to keeping in the zone and knowing when you are at that desk you are only there for work. When you need a change of scenery head to Panera or Starbucks, have lunch watch your favorite show on Netflix and then get to work for the afternoon!

Happy Working xoxo

Homemade Facial Scrub

In part of my lazy Sunday at home, I took some time to look up homemade facial scrubs! I found one that consisted of Organic Coconut Oil & Baking Soda, super easy. As much coconut oil as you desire and then a pinch of baking soda, mix and scrub it on. The best thing about coconut oil? It leaves your skin smooth and doesn't clog your pours! I loved this scrub and it saved me tons of money rather than going out and getting a premade scrub from the store.

xoxo Have a great evening!

Lazy Sunday Morning

Happy Sunday Everyone,

Fall is my favorite, from the leaves to the fact that I have a couple of weeks off from the barrel racing trail. I am taking complete advantage of a weekend off and enjoying my Gingerbread Latte, Homemade Scones, and Wood Stove.

This morning I made my scone recipe from yesterday but swapped the orange zest for some lemon zest and they turned out wonderful. This has made me want to keep trying different combinations and I would love to hear about ideas from you?

Today I am going to work on putting together Thanksgiving Hostess gifts, stay tuned for another post later!

Never a morning without my laptop and latte

Tasty Fall Treats

This year I am taking a Cooking for Wellness class and learning how to make wonderful treats from scratch. It has certainly opened my eyes to a whole new world in the kitchen. I am going to be honest, it is extremely convenient to swing into the grocery store and grab their already made baked goods for whatever event you are heading off too, but nothing beats homemade. I have spent some time putting together all these yummy recipes that are quick, easy, and still taste great!

Oatmeal Orange Zest Scones
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 sticks of butter, chilled
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup orange zest
2 cups buttermilk

1. Preheat the oven to 375
2. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a large bowl.
3. Cut the cold butter into small pieces and add into the flour bowl.
4. Use either your fingers or a pastry cutter to rub or cut the butter into the mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
5. Add oats and orange zest, tossing until evenly distributed.
6. Add the buttermilk and stir with a fork until you can gather the dough into a rough ball
7. Sprinkle a board with flour and put dough on it
8. Knead 6 or 7 times
9. Divide the dough into 3 equal parts
10. Pat each part into a circle about 1/2 inch thick
11. Cut each circle into 10 wedges
12. Put the wedges on ungreased baking sheets 1/2 inch apart and bake for about 25 minutes or until the scones are lightly brown

These scones taste just as great as the ones you can pick up at the fair! I am going to take these to Thanksgiving for breakfast and an hoping they'll be a hit!

Stay tuned for more treats! xoxo

Fall Favorites

I'm glad to finally have my life settle down a little and be back! It has finally reached my favorite time of year, FALL! I wanted to share some of my favorite outfits, accessories, and items to wear in the chilly weather.

Infinity scarves or any scarf really are my favorite fall accessory! They go with anything and can dress up a pretty casual outfit. My favorite outfit right now is a long sleeve shirt with an infinity scarf, straight leg dark wash jeans and flats. It's the perfect combination for both work and school.
They're cute & warm!
Perfectly work casual

Boots and jackets are adorable in the fall and are perfect for the weather with the correct accessories. Below are some of my favorites I have found on Pinterest.
The black jeans and dressy shirt make this outfit class and work appropriate along with still cute and casual. Im completely in love with the earrings!

The boots are adorable and this outfit is perfectly cozy.

Accessories, Accessories- My favorite thing!

Right now I am loving gold accessories especially gold rings. Another fall favorite of mine are knitted headbands. Not only do they keep your ears warm but they're cute and fun. The best thing about them is they go with my favorite clothing items, hoodies. Below are some of my favorite accessories.

I work in an office and have to dress professional everyday so I have looked long and hard to find cute outfits that are still comfy. At a sweater, leg warmers, and boots to a summer dress and you've got yourself the perfect fall outfit.

Sweaters are great additions to summer outfits making them just perfect for Fall like in the outfit below.

Thanks for reading & check back soon for lazy fall day outfits that still have style!
xoxo Until Next Time
